Strange weather in Northern Virginia. Although it's the middle of February, it's warm one day and cold the next.
I mention this only to alert you to the fact that you may want to keep your dog's cold weather coat available, even when it's relatively calm outside.
Our walkers have been telling us that weather conditions can change from one extreme to the other within a few days. This is especially important for short hair dogs that don't have the insulation against the cold and the biting wind that some of our longer furred friends have.
If your dog is shivering when walking outside then it's time to put on the coat.
